I got it.

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

Um. I just got a congratulatory letter in the mail. Apparently, I got that internship with the Train Simulator project at the MTA. Orientation is on Tuesday at 2 PM. I am expected to dress professionally for the orientation as well as for the duration of the internship. That means I have to go out and buy a suit or two. I’ll do that this weekend, I guess. But first… programming books! I went out and bought four books:

During the interview, I was told that they program in the Visual Basic language — which I don’t know — and that they’re planning on going online with ASP.NET — which I also do not know. I was also told by one of the project managers that I “should really know JavaScript.”

What’s the C# book for, then? Just to learn C#. The CIS classes I am taking this semester do not teach any new languages (we’re being taught Operating Systems and Analysis of Algorithms)… so I am going to attempt to learn something on my own. (The other three aren’t enough, it seems.)

I almost feel like throwing up. I was not expecting this.
