They’re part of the conspiracy

Today was rainy and in the 40s (5-9°C) all day. I biked to work and wore:

I was lucky to not get caught in the rain on the way there or back so I didn’t get to test the waterproof-ness of the jacket or pants. But! I can tell you that the windproof-ness of both was fantastic. The only parts of me that were cold were the ones that weren’t covered: ears and hands. I should have worn my skullcap under my helmet (which would have covered my ears!) and I need a pair of full-fingered gloves that aren’t heavy winter gloves. The thin gloves I used to wear ripped at the seams… but they weren’t very wind-resistant even when they were intact so I have mixed feelings about getting another pair.

Are we walking dead now?

Set my alarm for 4:30 AM:

That’s being hopeful, as I’ll probably snooze the crap out of the alarm. But this is what happens when you live 20mi from work (1.5hrs by public transit) and like to give yourself time to wake up, shower, make breakfast, and prepare lunch.

You could let yourself just slip away

Something that cheered me up today: USPS left a package inside the building instead of having me go to the post office to pick it up! (It really is the little things that make us happy.) It’s full of bike attire:

I’m gearing up for the winter! I expect to keep riding until snow makes it impossible for me to do so.
